THE LIFE AND DEATH OF GRAFFITI
"SLICE OF LIFE" PROJECT

DEATH:
What design elements/ principals were used?
Tone, Visual Progression, Value and Color

What story does this image tell?
This half of the photo set represents the darkness and almost death in one building with graffiti. In Connecticut graffiti is pretty popular and this building used to be a go-to spot for artists. When I looked around the building more it looked like it used to be a factory. There were conveyer belts to the right side of the building before the cinder blocks.

How does this image pertain to the overall story?
These images pertain to the overall story because they symbolize the death part of my project. This building, as you can see, is run down, abandoned. Even the artists who come here still try to keep the art alive but it's mostly covered up by other artists. Some add to the art, some destroy it.
LIFE:

What design elements/ principals were used?
Shape & Form, Space, Tone

What story does this image tell?
These images have a bit more variety than the first location. The first location is mostly text graffiti and this location has more art and drawing graffiti, if that makes sense.

How does this image pertain to the overall story?
These images pertain to my story because they show the life at another location that is more kept up to date. This location is a popular skate park in Hartford, CT. Many artists come here to tag and skate.
